It Precedes Me

This was a Zero to Hero prompt challenge, which was posted as a Daily Prompt.

Do you have a reputation? What is it, and where did it come from? Is it accurate? What do you think about it?

As a blogger, I don’t have much of a reputation yet. 20/20 Hines Sight was born December 15, 2013. I hope over the course of this blog it will showcase who I am (ridiculously honest, witty, outspoken, opinionated on practically everything, and I don’t shy away from a good healthy debate. Oh yeah and a crazy dry sense of humor.) And of course I hope it becomes wildly successful.

Outside of blogging, however, is quite a different

Day 4: Zero to Hero — Explore your neighborhood

I missed the Day 4 Zero to Hero challenge, but here it is. I’ve explored my neighborhood

I try my very best to get around to the all the blogs I follow and sometimes it’s hard to look for new ones. Here a few that I find interesting.

  1. From One Crazy Life to Another is “blogging about things I find frustrating or nerve wracking or downright confusing to maybe help someone in the same situation as I am.”
  2. Adventures & Thought Bubbles is a new blog, but from what I can tell it’s very promising.  It’s has some typical teenage angst and her Thought Bubbles are quite thought-provoking
  3. Box of Attachments — who doesn’t need to let go of things. Box of Attachements is one woman’s journey to pay homage and say goodbye to the things that clutter her life. I found Box of Attatchments through searching the Zero Continue reading

Day 3: Zero to Hero

Continuing with the WordPress Zero to Hero blogging challenge. Today’s challenge is to: “write the post that was on your mind when you decided to start a blog.”

A friend of mine and I were having lunch and he was telling me how surprised at how racist America is. He is from Sweden and biracial and although he is very fair-skinned he does have very African features. So, most people in the states classify him as a black male.

Anyway we’re eating and talking about race in America and the hostess seats a young Continue reading

A Chick Making the Most Out of 2014

Well, well, well what do we have here — day 2 of 2014.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and hope you have a great 2014.

WordPress is doing a Zero to Hero: 30 Days to a Better Blog challenge. I’m no stranger to blogging, but I  will have to say I always need a bit of help getting started.  Today is the first day of the challenge and those participating are biting the proverbial bullet and introducing themselves.

Who am I? A chick with a few things to say

Why did I start this blog? To share my thoughts, opinions, ideas, and whatever else crosses my mind

What topics do you think you’ll write about? Anything and everything from religion to politics to kids to health. I don’t shy away from topics during face-to-face conversations.  I enjoy open, honest, and respectful dialogue with folks, so I’m hoping all topics will be up for a bit of discussion.

If you blog successfully throughout 2014, what would you hope to have accomplished? I do hope it’s successful and the main thing I would like to have accomplished with it is people having open, honest and respectful discussions about some tough topics or not so tough topics.  I’m not looking to change the world, but maybe just add a little food for thought from time to time.

I would also like to open up my blog once a month for one week (7 full days) to other bloggers, so you can share your thoughts. Check out 7 Days 7 Bloggers for details.

I hope you’ll join me throughout the year whether you’re just reading what’s on this chicks mind or if you’re guest blogger.

You can like my Facebook and Twitter pages as I’m sure there will be times in which I’ll post a quick thought or observation or something there.

Have a great 2014 and I look forward to connecting with you. 🙂
