I’m Taking a Road Trip

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Road Tripping.”

I love a good road trip. I much prefer to road trip by myself. Actually, I prefer to travel by myself. I’m not on anyone else’s time schedule. I don’t have to compromise. I go where I want, when I want. And most importantly it’s peaceful.

Traveling with family is tiresome and somewhat annoying. Many a road trip my parents, sister and I have taken and I can’t begin to tell you how much I needed a vacation from our family vacation. But more specifically a vacation from my family

So, I kind of live for alone time road trips. They could be near – a Continue reading

New Goals & Goals Continued

Today’s Daily Post is:

We’re entering the final days of 2014 — how did you do on your New Year’s resolutions these past 11.75 months? Is there any leftover item to be carried over to 2015?

What the hell are you talking about you might be asking?

Well, wait for it. Wait for it.

Actually just click continue reading and you’ll find out.  Continue reading

Day 9: [I]ncolense to Some, Taking a Stand to Others

Today’s Blogging A to Z Challenge post is inspired by The WordPress Daily Post: Tell us about a time when you fought authority and took a stand against “the man.” Did you win?and today’s Letter is I.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a fighter. I fought my mother in utero. According to her whenever she smoked, I would kick the living daylights out of her till it hurt. I fought death at a mere 18 months and again some 30 years later. Fought my own battles with teachers and school administrators.

I remember a meeting with one teacher and my parents and she said that I was insolent. I had no idea what that meant, so when I got home I looked it up.

Insolent: boldly rude or disrespectful; Continue reading
