Weekly Smile – Music

I love most all music. I would have to say perhaps the only music I don’t particularly care for is Rap/Hip-Hop. Something has gone very wrong with it, since the days of my youth – Sugar Hill Gang, Kool Moe Dee, Doug E. Fresh and the like. Maybe I’ll have to feature them on a Flashback Thursday.

Mix Tape

I haven’t done a Daily Post in a while and if I’m not mistaken this is not the first time this topic has come up. I can’t say all of these songs describe my life – past, present, or future; but they all evoke something my life.

For instance Regina Belle’s God is Good is the first song I listen to in the morning. It helps get me moving and puts things in perspective for me. Pharrell’s Happy just makes me happy. It gets my feet moving. Gnarles Barkley’s Crazy . . . well just listen to it and maybe you’ll understand.

I Never Knew

Here I am sitting here with the great idiot box starring at me at 6 am and a commercial for Hollywood Casino comes on. My jaw drops.

Oh my f***kin gosh! All these years, I’ve been jammin to this song when they play on the radio (they still do — good music never dies) and 1) never knew the name of the artist and 2) never knew he was white. I’ll be dammed.

You go Boz Scaggs. This song won the Grammy for best R&B song in 1976.

Day 14: N is for . . .

I didn’t know what I was going to do for the Blogging A to Z Challenge, but after coming home from visiting my mom in the hospital and taking some time de-stress with iTunes, I had an AhHa moment.

For some reason my iTunes playlist was alphabetized and I thought why not do a list of songs that begin with the Letter N.

So here they are. Not all of them, just the five most played. Enjoy!
