I’m Taking a Road Trip

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Road Tripping.”

I love a good road trip. I much prefer to road trip by myself. Actually, I prefer to travel by myself. I’m not on anyone else’s time schedule. I don’t have to compromise. I go where I want, when I want. And most importantly it’s peaceful.

Traveling with family is tiresome and somewhat annoying. Many a road trip my parents, sister and I have taken and I can’t begin to tell you how much I needed a vacation from our family vacation. But more specifically a vacation from my family

The few days the WordPress Daily Post has given me some pretty good writing ideas. Today’s prompt is:

What makes a good storyteller, in your opinion? Are your favorite storytellers people you know or writers you admire?

I’m not a great or even a good verbal storyteller. My verbal stories tend to be expressionless and emotionless and that is a recipe for boring and put your audience to sleep. We all have that one eccentric relative who always says and does the strangest things. In your family, who’s that person, and what is it that earned him/her that reputation?

When I saw this prompt, I immediately thought of yours truly. I’m the black sheep in the family, so to speak. I don’t do and or like most things the folks in family like to do.
