My Hometown 2.8.14

This is my hometown from DC to Baltimore and places in between. Enjoy! ūüôā Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

I work about a 5 minute walk from the White House and frequently walk down to Layfaette Park for lunch. I do a bit of people watching, look at the ducks wading in the fountain, and run from the squirrels. Contrary to public opinion city squirrels will do their best to take your food. ūüôā Slight exaggeration, but those little buggers are bold.

I love this place. Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring, Md is an awesome place to visit. I come here every year for the Festival of Lights and the Butterfly Garden and for hikes and just plain ole relaxation.

Sculpture in the middle of New York Avenue. The National Museum of Women in the Arts hosts different women sculpture artists exhibits and the exhibit going on now is by Chakaia Booker.

The Baltimore Aquarium, one of my favorite places. Calypso a giant green sea turtle is somewhat of a local celebrity. He had to his left fin amputated due to infection when he was a turtleling (not a word, I know). Calypso’s story. The other pic is of the Inner Harbor. Click on the picture to enlarge it and you’ll see the Domino Sugar factory.

Christmas songs: My favorites are The Temptations version of Silent Night and Eartha Kitt’s Santa Baby and Elmo¬† Continue reading
