About Me

DSCN0048

I’ve mulled this thing around in my head for a while now and thought the time has finally come to start it.

I started this blog for a couple of reasons: (1) I want to share my thoughts on the world around me and  (2) My friends and I are always having discussions about some hot button topics or not so hot button topics that go on around the world, and I wanted others to chime in.  Give me a different perspective.  I typically know how they are going to respond and they know me, so discussions don’t always reach their full potential.

Some thoughts may be deep and introspective and others squirrel moments.  I may share a story or post a picture or question.  Whatever it is don’t hesitate to share your thoughts or opinions.  Wanna know what I have to say about something or just ask a question click HERE.

One rule for comments.  BE RESPECTFUL.  Not everyone is going to share your perspective.  Any comments that violate this will be deleted.

  1. Wonderful site! Love the name (very clever) and the way you write (squirrel moments!) and think (I am big on respect too). Can’t wait to explore more! So glad I wandered over from the Weekend Coffee Share. 😊

    • Thanks Nancy for stopping by and the kind words. 🙂 I have lots of squirrel moments. It’s interesting you should mention squirrel moments because I was thinking of adding another content area dedicated to them. Have to think on it a bit more.

  2. Are you Poblano’ing here, too? 😀 Here’s the auto message one more time… Hey! This is, hopefully, the most automated comment you will ever-ever receive from me. I’ve popped over to say I finally put together the blogroll for NanoPoblano, I wanted you to check it out, and make sure that (1) you still want to participate and (2) your blog name is written as you want it written, and (3) I didn’t leave out super important information. Then, leave a comment introducing yourself. This is the page I’ll be directing people to through the month, so I’m hoping they’ll see your comment and be excited to go check you out. It should say something like, “Hey, Cheer Peppers– I’m So&So. I write about such&such. Come by and say hey.” I’ll be pruning comments on that page so it’s just link backs from posts, positive Pepper messages, and your intro. I’ll be sharing the page tomorrow night, all over town, so if you can put something up before then, that’d be awesome. If not, no worries, we have a whole month to go. https://rarasaur.wordpress.com/nanopoblano-2015/

  5. I like your ideas for having meaningful discussions through your blog. I was hoping for some of the same thing on mine. So far, I’ve only managed to piss people off with the politics! Oh well…
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I’m glad you decided to follow me. 🙂

  6. Always up to making new friends – especially fellow bloggers!

I’m participating in “Blogging 201” and I’m hoping it will be the launching pad I’ve always been after.

I look forward to getting to know you. 🙂

  7. Hi from snowy Calgary, AB, Canada. Yes, it’s snowing here on Good Friday! In a way, that’s a good thing ’cause if it wasn’t, I’d be far less inclined to be inside working away on Blogging 201.

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks so very much for taking a look at my blog on Day 1 and suggesting a few more-photo-oriented themes. I spent the last couple of days transitioning to the Expound theme. Ignoring all the problems in the 165 posts I ported over from my very first blog on spaces.live in October 2010, I’m pretty happy with how things are looking.

I noticed in one of the other comment threads here that you’re heading to Australia/New Zealand to do some white water rafting next year. We had a terrific guide in the Taupo/Rotarua area who took us on a day hike and mountain biking – but his first and true love is white water rafting! Based on our experiences, if you’re going to be in the area I highly recommend you consider booking a trip with Jordie (one of the co-owners) of Multi Day Adventures.

We loved our month of adventures in NZ. Have been back home for about 6 weeks now and am still working my way through a long series of blog posts. New Zealand’s literally at the end of the internet, so I decided just to enjoy the vacation and spend time writing about it back at home.

  12. Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

    • Thanks Uncle Spike for stopping by. I like being a Spikey. I have dug in, especially the traveling section. Love to travel and next year I’m headed to Australia/New Zealand for some white water rafting, so that really got my attention.

I hope to see you around here sometime and I look forward to reading more from you. 😉

      • Aww thanks for that. Particularly glad you enjoyed some of the travel posts – they are not that regular I’m afraid, and take time to do; but they are very much my favourites too if I’m honest 🙂
