Happy New Year!! I hope you all wonderful and safe holiday season. And thanks for stopping by for the first coffee share of the new year. I look forward to spending time with you this year. My apologies, I would offer you something, but I can’t because I have yet to grocery shopping. Next time.
If we were having coffee, you’d find me on my couch recovering. Yesterday, I flew in and had the audacity to get sick on the plane. However, I was determined not to be the sick person on the plane that caused an emergency landing. So, I kept pretty quiet until I b-lined to the restroom and had the pleasure of seeing my breakfast – again. The flight attendant asked if everything was okay and thereafter kept a watchful eye on me. This is the second time I’ve gotten airsick and both times there was turbulence and I had eaten. Note to self: Don’t eat before or during air travel.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my visit home was good. I was glad to leave but also sad. It’s strange how you manage to fall right back into line when you’re at home. I was able to spend time with friends and family, which was really good.
I took my Apple TV home so my parents could check it out. My mother has been talking and talking and talking about getting rid of cable, so I thought I’d show them what they could with the Apple TV. I do believe that between my brother-in-law and I, we’ve created two streaming and Apple TV junkies. Between my brother-in-law and me we’ve set them up with our passwords and they’ve been at it. Watch your data plan, if you have one.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve embarked on a plan to get started writing again. Every morning before I get my day started, I will do a 10-minute writing exercise. I did one two today and am quite pleased with the results, which you can find here. I’m also excited because I think I have the makings of two stories.
Well, I must be off to the store.
I’m glad you stopped by and as usual you, please join the coffee share hosted by Diana over at Part-Time Monster
So sorry you were ill on your flight home. I’ve been close to it many times, especially when descending, but thankfully it hasn’t happened to me yet! Your note about needing to buy groceries has made me realize I need to make a trip to the store too, so thank you very much! Best of luck with your new writing routine. It’s a good one!

Thanks for stopping by. I have problems with the decent too. The change in cabin pressure give me the worst earaches. I haven’t found anything that really works.

I can’t think of many things worse than being sick while traveling! Glad you were able to squeak by. It’s funny what you said about falling back in line when you visit home. I remember feeling that way on a few Christmas when I was single and went to spend the night at my parents house. It was almost like my personality changed in that familiar environment! Happy New Year!

LOL my mother said the same thing. She told me that yeah you’ve grown up but when you come home it’s like you revert. Of course. She’s supposed to take care of me, right? Happy New Year to you, too! 🙂

We switched to an Amazon Fire TV box last year, and both of us like it much better than the digital cable we had. We rarely miss it.
Sorry to hear that the plane ride made you ill—hope you’re feeling better now!

My brother-in-law has an Amazon Fire TV box too and he loves it. What gets me is that networks are trying to charge you for otherwise free tv. I’m looking at getting an HD antenna and an internet only package with someone other than cable.
I fly quite a bit and this is just unusual. I hope this is not the new norm. We’ll see what happens the next go round. And yes, I am much better now.

Hm. The only networks we have to pay for are those who’d have a subscription service anyway–HBO, Showtime, and the like. Otherwise, our Amazon apps and watching things are mostly free.

I’m not sure when it happened, but I became on of those people who has to take motion sickness pills before she flies. I like to use Bonine because the other stuff makes me too drowsy.
I too am a streaming junkie (Roku).

I’ve never taken pills for motion sickness. Never a need, I guess until now. I’ll have to check it out. We’ll my parents now have my Apple TV, but tis okay because I can get most things using my iPad. I plan on getting the new one soon. How do you like Roku?

I’ve had them for years: I have the first generation and the Roku 3. Love them.

Great idea, the morning 10 minutes writing exercises. I too, like Corina, used to write morning pages. Very therapeutic. My favourite of the 2 stories is the one about Aubrey. Gets one on the edge of one’s seat.

Thanks Margaretha for dropping by. I’m hoping to develop a new writing habit by doing this, but most importantly purge some of these ideas that are clogging my brain.
I always like to hear what people like. Thanks for the feedback. I think it’s a pretty good shell to get something started. And of course anything can happen.

Committing to a daily writing time is a great first step! I used to write Morning Pages and it helped creativity flow very nicely.
Happy shopping!
