Day 3: Three life lessons you’ve learned in 2015

3 life lessons you’ve learned in 2015

When I decided to include this one, I thought it would be easy to to pick three life lessons; but I was wrong. I can’t say these are life lessons. I would classify them more as affirmations

  1. I have always been a relatively strong and independent person and when I decided to seize the opportunity to take a job and move some 1600+ miles away from family and friends to a place where I knew no one, I knew it would be difficult. There are times in which it’s more difficult than others. Sometimes I hate coming home to an empty house, but I love not being having to answer to anyone. Sometimes it’s hard not being near family and friends, but I love pushing my boundaries.
  2. I can’t really say this is something I’ve learned this year. I always knew that it would be hard for me to meet new people and develop friendships being an introvert. My mother recently said to me, “I know you’re lonely.” Really? WTF! I thought. I promptly told her that I’m not lonely . Sure there are times in which I’d like some company, but I spend all day being ‘On’ at work that when the work day is over I’m spent and just want to go home and be alone.
  3. Since I began tutoring, I realized how much I miss tutoring/teaching and mentoring. I planned and still do plan on getting a masters in adult education, but I’m seriously thinking about how I can turn this tutoring thing into a business.
