Weekend Coffee Share ☕️

I wasn’t sure what to talk about for this weeks Weekend Coffee Share, as it has been an oddly slow but hectic week.

If we were having coffee . . .

I’d say nothing really exciting happened this week. It seems like my former coworker is finally moving on and the hired her replacement. He seems to be on his A-game. He’s not too tightly wound and it appears he has a wicked sense of humor, so I think he’ll fit right in with our band of bandits and misfits.

This weekend I decided to go old school when writing and that includes writing blog posts. Yesterday when I was at Target looking for a 2016 planner, I got a bit distracted because the hamster hopped on the wheel and ran and ran until he turned on the lightbulb. Ding. Maybe just maybe you should go back to writing basics. Well now, either you’re saying ‘Okay, what’s that?’ or ‘Erica, get on with it.’

Getting back to basics is putting pen to paper again. Only when I feel the writing is project is done will I head to the computer. I’ll edit my on paper and perhaps from time-to-time show you the insane ramblings that goes on inside my head when I’m trying to get something out. You know us creatives could probably double or even triple the world population with all the folks that reside in our head.

Welp, I’m trying to get sick and I absolutely refuse. I have some time off coming up and plan to take it. I do not plan to adjust my schedule because my body has betrayed me and most importantly because some nasty ass rat bastard refused to stay home, but instead chose to traverse out in public to spread his/her plague on the bus or at work.

Today also marks the biggest month for bloggers. National Blog Posting Month began today – NaBloPoMo for short. (Although it’s easier for me to say and type National Blog Posting Month). Anyway, it’s 30 consecutive days of posting. And this year I’m gonna do it.

Here is the part where my hectic week comes in. I’ve been doing a lot of final planning and prewriting because I’m not only doing NaBloPoMo on this blog but my short story and book blogs, too. And to make things even more difficult I threw in my newest blog Decision. Christ., which I started to chronicle my journey and struggles with being a Christian. It’s a lot I know and to be perfectly honest with you I don’t expect to complete the challenge on all four blogs. I definitely plan on finishing it on this one and my short story blog.

So, that’s it for now. See ya next week and have a good week.

Hop on over Rara‘s blog as she has spiced NaBloPoMo up in her own special way with NanoPoblano. And while you’re there show some love to the Tiny Peppers.

Don’t forget to join the coffee link up at Part Time Monster and share it on Twitter by using #WeekendCoffeeShare.

  1. Thanks so much for coffee and I’m really intrigued to read that I’m not the last writer to hand write stuff. I have been feeling at best like a dinosaur and at worst like a lunatic…especially when I have to type the lot up. I do believe there is something in that movement of the pen over paper which stimulates the brain, creativity etc. That’s not as far fetched as it sounds when you read about neuroplasticity.
I’m not taking part in any of these crazy November projects. It’s Summer here and the end of the school year and Christmas are coming and it’s not a good time. That said, reading about so many other people putting themselves under the hammer is inspiring me to get some words written on my book project which is non-fiction.
Good luck with it all xx Rowena

  2. You know, I’ve never seen The Princess Bride. I didn’t even know what the graphic was from until it was mentioned. I’ve been in the room while it has been playing a gazillion times because my kids loved it and would watch it over and over again but I never sat and watched it. I was always in the background reading, cooking, or doing something else. I’ll have to watch that one day!

  3. I love the Princess Bride. I had more things to say, but I got lost in that thought for a minute. 🙂 Oh– yes, I remember– pen to paper. I really think being forced to write that way tuned up my writing quite a bit. Good luck to you this poblano season. ❤

    • Thanks Rara! I used to write the “old fashioned” pen to paper way and I think by not doing it my writing has declined. I find I don’t really think about the words. I just write and as a result it’s harder for me to connect with what my writing. So, I want a deeper connection with what I write. Sounds weird, huh?

Oh yeah and the Princess Bride is one of my all time favorites. Will queue up the DVD player in a heartbeat.

  4. Hey, fellow NaBloPoMo participant, glad you are joining in as well. It on am looking forward to reading everyone’s blogs, including yours. You have quite a bit on your plate there, hon. Glad your new coworker is pretty cool. Have a wonderful day!

    • Thanks Claudia, it’s definitely going to keep me busy but if I stick to the schedule I should be able to accomplish a lot. I’m hoping to stay ahead of the game because on the nights I tutor, I won’t have time to do much of anything. Fingers crossed.
