If We Were Having Coffee. . .

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you I haven’t been keeping up with the Blogging A to Z Challenge. My mother was here helping me get settled and just left, so I should be back on track. I’m going to go back and get the days I missed posted. And I haven’t really had a chance to check out too many A to Z participants either. Hangs head low.

Anyway, I’m going to make a concerted effort to get back on track – posting, visiting, and commenting.

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you that I’m about to cut the cable cord. I had been thinking about for some time now and have finally come to the conclusion that it’s a complete waste of money. I don’t watch television that often and I can count the number of shows I watch religiously on one hand. And guess what they can all be streamed via the inter webs.

Yesterday, I went to Best Buy and purchased an Apple TV. I already had Netflix and Amazon Prime and basic Hulu and I’m thinking about upgrading to Hulu Plus for a whopping $7.99 per month.

I could could go on about my disdain for cable, but I’m sure the vast majority of you feel my pain.

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you that I really and truly believe I live and work on the island of misfit toys. Last weekend my newest neighbor literally blessed her mother out and her mother took it and came back. The walls aren’t exactly sound proof, so I heard her crying, using the F word and just verbally abusing her mother. I know for a fact if I ever did that to my mother, I would have been picking my teeth up off the ground.

At one point she told her mother: “You never loved me like you loved him.” What the hell? Her mother accidentally dropped something and the girl hollered, “What the fuck are you doing? You’re breaking everything that I love.” Really? At that point I wanted to go over there and punch her in her throat. But what I can’t get over is that here mother kept coming back and never said don’t talk to me like that. Nothin’.

At work three law firms have merged and none of them like each other. The main firm who has the bulk of the people are incredibly special. I think the majority of them need psychological counseling. There’s an attorney that insists on yelling and degrading people. He told one assistant that she was worthless and called another attorney a “fucking idiot.”

If we were having coffee. . .

I’d tell you that when I lived in DC I saw some strange things and since I’ve been in Denver I’ve seen some strange things, but I tell you strangest and perhaps scariest thing I saw yesterday was a man trying to get on an RTD bus (public transport) with a chainsaw. And no the chainsaw wasn’t in a box or duffle bag or concealed in any way. The bus driver told him no and the man just started cussing the driver out. After a bit of an exchange chainsaw man, I guess finally conceded, but in one last ditch effort to get back at the bus driver, RTD, or someone he drew back his leg and foot as far as he could and wham – kicked the bus.

Yup. I’ve seen some things.

Well, my coffee is gone and I hope you had a great time here this weekend. See you next time and don’t forget to join the link up over at Part Time Monster

  1. No guilt. Visiting–in person–with your mother is a priority. I’ve been a delinquent visitor and commenter, too. Hope you do get to start posting to the Challenge again, but if you don’t, that’s life.

    • thanks Josna for visiting and the support. I’m probably going to forego the traditional A to Z challenge and do it next month. Hopefully life will have settled down by then, and I will have had a proper opportunity to prepare my posts and visit other blogs that participated in the challenge.

  2. What a week!

Hope you’re able to get back on track with A to Z. I’m woefully behind on reading, but I’ve managed to post on time for the challenge so far.

And we’ve cut the cable cord—and we haven’t looked backward. We use Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HuluPlus, and we have access to Showtime and HBO, too, so we’re set without needing any sort of cable.:)
