In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Road Tripping.”
I love a good road trip. I much prefer to road trip by myself. Actually, I prefer to travel by myself. I’m not on anyone else’s time schedule. I don’t have to compromise. I go where I want, when I want. And most importantly it’s peaceful.
Traveling with family is tiresome and somewhat annoying. Many a road trip my parents, sister and I have taken and I can’t begin to tell you how much I needed a vacation from our family vacation. But more specifically a vacation from my family
So, I kind of live for alone time road trips. They could be near – a Virginia B & B or up to Pennsylvania for a weekend of camping and white water or farther away Connecticut, Vermont, Florida, Myrtle Beach.
The road trip I have mapped out right now is for when I make my move to Colorado, hopefully this year. Neither route on the map is the ideal route. I would have to alter it and take the following route:
- DC to Ohio stay there overnight (dinner with relatives).
- Ohio to Chicago and overnight in Chicago.
- Chicago to St. Louis, MO there are a couple things I want to do there.
- St Louis to somewhere in Kansas
- Kansas to Denver
Another road trip, well not actually a road trip more like a foot to path kind of trip. I want to do an Alpine hike – Switzerland, Austria, and France or maybe Switzerland, France, Italy. It would be great to hike hut-to-hut. I hear some of these ‘huts’ are pretty luxurious.
Slightly precarious, but beautiful
I love road trips! I love travelling in general, but the last road trip I took was with my fiancé down state for my 10 year high school reunion. The ride down was fun – we talked and laughed and pointed out weird things. Then he got a little scared of all the traffic near Detroit. Haha! I definitely prefer to travel alone also but I would go anywhere with him.

A road trip sounds like a great adventure, as long as the soundtrack is phenomenal. I hope you have fun on yours!

Heck yeah. A road trip can by yourself can go from good to bad with the wrong music. Luckily I have good road trippin music. About 5 days worth, so I never have to hear the same song twice.

Ohh I love road trips. I’ve never taken one alone though, and will have to add that to my summer plans

You definitely have to. Once you go by yourself. You’ll have a hard time going with someone else.
