Dear Polar Vortex,
I’m not sure who gave you permission to settle in the DC region, but I guarantee you’re not welcome. We, the citizens, of the Washington, DC metro area had a meeting and respectfully request that you retreat until the official start of winter, December 21st.
We are not ready.
Thank you for your time and prompt attention to the matter.
I don’t understand what your problem is. When DC gets even a coating the entire city shuts down and people stay home. Trying handling inches at a time, still having to make your way to work/home, then start complaining.
I am far enough north to get inches / feet of snow, but far enough south to have governments that don’t know how to deal with it.

I think maybe you missed the humor in the post. Not complaining about the snow because we haven’t had any, yet. It’s the sudden drop in temperature I was referring to.

How would you like to have been in Hawaii and woken up to 32 degree temps yesterday? My wife watches this show about people buying houses in Hawaii…not a one has a heater, even a stand alone.

I have to admit that I really like watching the cold and snow on the weather channel.

LOL! Watching it and being in it are two entirely different things. You know how screwy the DC area weather can be and November is our Indian Summer month. I think we kinda missed it.

We haven’t gotten snow yet. It’s just ridiculously cold. I had to pull out down mittens today because my gloves didn’t keep my hands warm yesterday.

Thanks, glad you saw the humor in it. And what’s worse is it’s going to be in the 60’s next week.

I agree! This is our first snow of the winter and it closed the schools! What they hey is that about? Usually, we just get light snow that doesn’t stick at this time of the year.

Usually at this time of year we’re not even cold enough to have the threat of snow in the weather forecast. A lot of times people are still wearing shorts and flip flops as it’s typically in the 60’s. No cooling off period for us. Just went from light jacket to thermals, down coats, scarfs, & earmuffs. Grrrr
