You Can’t Fix Stupid.

I was listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show on my way to the train station today and caught the tail end of a story, where the entire cast was befuddled and upset.

After getting to work I had to see what the hubbub was about. And let me tell you as comedian Ron White says, “You can’t fix stupid.”

So, here’s the deal.

A Tennessee woman, Shona Carter-Brooks, walked down the aisle with her one month old baby strapped to the train of her wedding dress. Really?! Who the hell does this? and Who in the world commends someone for having such a wonderfully stupid idea?

What if someone stepped out into the aisle or she stumbles and fell back? This is by no means a wonderful idea. Nor is it cute.

I’ve seen some pretty stupid things take place at weddings, but this by far the dumbest and perhaps most dangerous.

She defended her action by saying:

People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never lose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine. Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train.

Now let’s be clear. I understand you wanted to have the baby in the wedding and be different, but this was completely and utterly irresponsible.

If this mother is doing this kind of nonsense now and the child is only a month old, what dangers is she going to subject the child to later on.

In my opinion this ‘mother’ has already shown she’s a hazard to her child and Tennessee’s Child Protective Services needs to be on the alert.

  1. You are so right!
At first I thought it was edited, really couldn’t believe people can be that stupid.
Unfortunately, with the attention they’ve created I’m sure we’ll see more of this, not less. And who knows, the proud parents might get an offer for a talk show and such and even make money from their stupidity. These days, it pays to be stupid…. 😦

    • I’m sure you’re right and I really hope that we don’t see an uptik in this. A collegue of mine said she could have carried the baby in her arms instead of a flower bouquet, which would have been even more beautiul.

Stupidity really does pay nowadays. It’s sad, really.
