This weeks edition of My Hometown is Hillwood Estate, Gardens and Museum. Oh my goodness this is one of Washington, DC hidden treasures. It’s a jewel and if you’re ever in the city or you live in the DC Metro area, you must go!
Today was my first visit and I ❤ it.
So, just a little background. It was owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post, heiress to the Post cereal fortune.

Beautiful, my partner is actually from Virginia and DC is still on our to do list for when I’m over there. I actually really want to see all the Smithsonian museums but this may also go on the itinerary!

Awesome! 🙂 If you manage to get here before I move to Colorado, which you’ll know by the deluge of fireworks going off, you’ll have to look me up and I definitely recommend Hillwood in the Spring/Summer. I’m heading back next month because the rose garden will be in bloom.

Beautiful. I toggled through to the website and looked around. Truly a gem. Thanks for showcasing this great museum 20/20.

There is so much to say about Hillwood and Marjorie Merriweather Post that I would be remiss if I tried to put it into words. I plan on going back when the rose garden is in bloom.
